Maruti Suzuki e Vitara delivery timeline revealed

Back in January, Maruti revealed its debut EV in India – Maruti Suzuki e Vitara. The electric SUV was first revealed in Milan last year. This was followed by its India debut at the Bharat Global Mobility Expo in January 2025. The automaker is gearing up to launch the SUV in India next month. Ahead of the launch, Mr RC Bhargava, Chairman of Maruti Suzuki, has confirmed the delivery timeline of the e Vitara.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Delivery timeline and production details

RC Bhargava, Chairman of Maruti Suzuki, has confirmed that the automaker will commence the e Vitara’s delivery rollout in September 2025. Maruti plans to produce 70,000 units of the SUV this year. Most of these units will be earmarked for export. In India, the e Vitara will be retailed through Maruti’s Nexa showrooms.

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is based on the automaker’s eVX concept. It stands at dimensions of 4,272mm x 1,800mm x 1,640mm and has a 2,700mm wheelbase. Up front, it features an upright nose, a shut-off grille, edgy headlamps, and tri-slash LED DRLs. The door handles of the SUV are mounted on the C-pillar. The charging port is located on the rear fender. At the back, the LED tail lamps also follow the tri-slash design pattern.

The interior of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is decked with cutting-edge features. The two-spoke steering wheel has mounted controls. The dashboard has a premium finish and houses a floating 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster. Other features include a 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, rear seat armrest with cup holder, connected car tech, a fixed-glass sunroof, and more. On the safety front, the electric SUV gets 7 airbags, an Electronic Parking Brake, All-Disc Brakes, e-Call functionality, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, and more. There is a Level 2 ADAS package onboard as well.

There are 2 battery pack options on offer for the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara – 49kWh and 61kWh. These battery packs can function within a -30°C – 60°C temperature range. The electric motor is mounted on the front axle and produces a maximum power output of 143hp on the 49kWh variants. The 61kWh variants put out 173hp. These variants have a 500km driving range.

Final Thoughts

Mr RC Bhargava also revealed that Maruti plans on launching another SUV by the end of the year. This SUV is believed to be the 7-seater version of the Grand Vitara. Prices for the e Vitara will be revealed upon its launch. We expect it to fetch Rs 18 lakh. It will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta Electric, Toyota Urban Cruiser EV, Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV, Tata Nexon EV, and MG Windsor EV.
