Maruti Suzuki Dzire has crossed the 3 million sales landmark in India. The compact sedan was introduced in the country back in 2008. Since then, it has been updated numerous times to keep up with the ever-evolving segment. Its current 4th-gen model was launched in November 2024. India is a major export hub for the Dzire, with the sedan finding success in foreign markets like the Philippines and Japan.

Garnering 3 million sales cements Maruti Suzuki Dzire’s spot at the top of the compact sedan pile. Maruti sold 214,488 units of the sedan in CY2025 alone, making it the best-selling car in India last year.
Over the years, the Dzire has shaped the compact sedan segment, constantly setting new benchmarks with every new update. Its first-gen model introduced features like dual front airbags, ABS, and climate control in its segment. Its safety standards remain world-class, with the latest 4th-gen model securing 5-star safety ratings from Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP.
The 4th-gen Dzire stands at dimensions of 3,995mm x 1,735mm, 1,525mm and has a 2,450mm wheelbase. It features sharp LED headlamps integrated with LED DRLs and crystal-like elements. The grille has six horizontal slats with the topmost one rocking a glossy black finish and a chrome border. The sedan comes in 14-inch and 15-inch alloy wheel options. Its rear section features 3D Trinity tail lamps.
One of the primary drivers behind the success of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire in India is its impressive instrumentation and feature list. The compact sedan flaunts a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system and a 4.2-inch coloured MID. There’s support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay on board. Other features include cruise control, USB fast charger, rear AC vents, keyless entry, a 360-degree camera, an electric sunroof, and wireless charging. On the safety front, it rocks 6 airbags, ESP, hill hold assist, ABS with EBD, brake assist, 3-point seatbelts with reminders for all passengers, and more features.
Under the hood, the Dzire is powered by the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, Z12E petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 80hp and 112Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. With a manual transmission, this engine offers a mileage of 24.79kmpl. Automatic variants of the sedan offer a fuel economy of 25.71kmpl.
