Mahindra XUV700 facelift spotted testing again, launch next year

The facelifted model of the Mahindra XUV700 SUV has been spotted testing on Indian roads numerous times this year. On its most recent outing, the test mule revealed some new details about the facelift’s design. The SUV is set to go on sale in early 2026. It will likely be showcased at Auto Expo, New Delhi, in January 2026.

Mahindra XUV700 facelift: What to expect?

The XUV700 facelift test mule spotted recently was fully camouflaged, but the cutouts on its front fascia confirmed an updated design for the grille and LED headlamps. It remains to be seen whether Mahindra has completely overhauled the design or given it a marginal update. The grille is wider than the current model, and the LED headlamps have a split arrangement. We expect the bumper to rock a more muscular and sculpted look on the new model. Revisions to the LED DRLs are expected as well.

The profile of the facelift is almost identical to the current model. No changes have been made to the silhouette, doors, wheel arches, and fenders. The alloy wheels sport a new aero-optimised design. At the back, the LED tail lamps appear to be connected by a sleek light bar.

No spy shots of the interior have surfaced so far. We expect the XUV700 facelift to borrow the interior setup of the XEV 9e. This means it could get a triple-screen arrangement for the digital instrument cluster and the touchscreen infotainment system. There will be plenty of physical controls. The SUV will come in 6 and 7-seat layouts. Other features like a 16-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos, auto-dimming IVRMs, automatic climate control, wireless charging, connected car tech, and a Level 2 ADAS package are also expected to make the cut.

The XUV700 facelift will carry forward the mechanical specs of the current model. It will come in 2 engine options. The 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 200hp and 380Nm of torque. The 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine is available in two tune levels. In entry-level variants, it generates a maximum power output of 155hp and 360Nm of torque. In top-spec variants, it puts out 185hp and 420Nm. Paired with an automatic transmission, the torque output jumps to 450Nm. Both engines can be paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Final Thoughts

The current Mahindra XUV700 lineup is priced between Rs 13.66 lakh and Rs 25.14 lakh. We expect the starting price of the new lineup to be close to Rs 14 lakh. Upon launch, it will rival the Tata Safari, Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, MG Hector, Hector Plus, and Kia Seltos in India.
