Kia EV2 breaks cover at Brussels Motor Show

Kia has taken the wraps off its smallest EV yet. The Kia EV2 was unveiled at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show, making it the automaker’s sixth dedicated electric model. Kia also revealed the EV2 GT Line alongside the electric SUV. The EV3 GT, EV4 Hatchback GT, and EV GT5 got a showcase as well. It remains to be seen whether the EV2 will make its way to India.

Kia EV2: Everything you need to know

The EV2 stands at dimensions of 4,060mm x 1,800mm x 1,575mm, and has a 2,565 wheelbase. It follows Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design language, which can also be seen on its larger SUVs. Its signature ‘Tiger Face’ front fascia comprises vertically-stacked LED headlamps and Star Map LED DRLs.The SUV maintains an upright stance, a strong shoulder line, and has thick body cladding along the wheel arches. The overall design looks compact but sporty. The GT Line trim flaunts sportier bumpers and 19-inch alloys. 

Inside, the Kia EV2 gets a panoramic display, similar to the one on the Kia Syros sold in India. This setup comprises a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 5.3-inch climate control display, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The ambient lighting present across the cabin synchronises with the turn signals. The electric SUV comes in 4 and 5-seat layouts. They offer a boot space capacity of 403 litres and 362 litres, respectively. Both variants have a 15-litre frunk.

The ADAS package on the EV2 packs premium features like FCA 2.0 (Front Collision Avoidance Assist 2.0), HoD (Hands-on Detection), LKA 2 (Lane Keeping Assist 2), HDA 2 (Highway Driving Assist 2), RSPA (Remote Smart Parking Assist), and more.

Kia EV2 will be made available in 2 battery sizes upon launch – 42.2kWh (Standard Range) and 61kWh (Long Range). They offer a driving range of 317km and 448km, respectively. Both variants will be powered by a front-mounted single electric motor. The SR variants will churn out 147hp, while the power output on the LR variants will be limited to 136hp. A DC fast charger can take both variants from 10-80% in under 30 minutes. An 11kW AC charger can fully charge the SR variants in 4 hours 5 minutes and the LR variants in 5 hours 35 minutes. A 22kW AC charger takes 2 hours 35 minutes and 3 hours, respectively.

Final Thoughts

Kia currently offers 2 all-electric models in India – EV6 and EV9. The brand hasn’t confirmed whether the EV2 will go on sale in India. Globally, it will rival the likes of the Renault 4 and Volkswagen ID Cross.
