Hyundai Motor India has brought down the starting price of the i20 hatchback by adding a new entry-level trim. The new Hyundai i20 ‘Era’ is priced at Rs 5.99 lakh. This makes the hatchback more affordable by Rs 13,000. The automaker has also slashed the prices of the Magna and Magna Executive trims by Rs 13,000.

The entry-level ‘Era’ trim of the Hyundai i20 packs a digital instrument cluster, USB Type-C charging ports, telescopic steering wheel adjustment, front and rear skid plates, and body-coloured OVRMs and door handles. At an additional cost of Rs 15,000, buyers can a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a rear-view camera with a 3-year warranty. These accessories will be dealer-level fitments.
The Magna Executive variant of the Hyundai i20 gets safety features like 6 airbags, Electronic stability control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC). It also gets 15-inch steel wheels and a digital instrument cluster with a TFT multi-information display (MID). Meanwhile, the Magna CVT variant gets premium features like a smart electric sunroof, rear AC vents, LED DRLs, and a front centre console with storage and armrest.
Things remain the same under the hood of the Hyundai i20. The hatchback is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine. This engine generates a maximum power output of 83hp. On the Era variant, it can be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox only. On higher variants, it can be paired with a CVT gearbox as well. The CVT variants produce a higher output of 88hp.

Prices for the Hyundai i20 lineup now start at Rs 5.99 lakh and go up to Rs 12.39 lakh. It is available in 16 variants. The hatchback rivals the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Tata Altroz, and Toyota Glanza in India.
