Hyundai Exter Knight Edition launched in India

Hyundai Motor India has added a new ‘Knight Edition’ to the Exter SUV’s lineup in celebration of a year since its launch. The special edition will be available for SX and SX(O) Connect variants of the SUV. Prices for the Hyundai Exter Knight Edition start at Rs 8.38 lakh and go up to Rs 10.43 lakh. The Knight Edition is available for Venue and Creta SUVs as well.

The Knight Edition adds two new colours to the Exter lineup – Abyss Black and Shadow Grey. It gets exterior design upgrades like red accents on the bumper and tailgate, red brake callipers, black skid plates (front and rear), black side-sill garnish, black alloys, black logos, and special ‘Knight’ badging.

Inside, the Hyundai Exter Knight Edition gets an all-black theme with red highlights. The steering and interior door handles are wrapped in black satin while the black seat upholstery features red stitching. The special edition SUV also features red footwell lighting and red highlights on the floor mats.

Things remain the same under the hood as the Hyundai Exter Knight Edition continues to be powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine can produce a maximum power output of 83hp and 114Nm of torque. It can be paired with a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. The  Exter shares this engine with the Grand i10 Nios, Aura, i20, and Venue.

The CNG variants of the SUV produce a maximum power output of 69hp and 95.2Nm of torque. These variants do not get an AMT gearbox option. The manual petrol variants of the  Exter offer a mileage of 19.4 kmpl, while the AMT variants offer 19.2 kmpl. In CNG guise, Hyundai claims a mileage of 27.10 kmpl for the Exter.

Conclusion

Prices for the regular Exter lineup start at Rs 6.13 lakh and go up to Rs 10.43 lakh. The Exter crossed the 1 lakh bookings milestone in November 2023. It has sold 93,000 units to date. The SUV rivals Tata Punch, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, and Citroen C3.
