The Exter facelift stands at dimensions of 3,830mm x 1,723mm x 1,643mm and has a 2,450mm wheelbase. Its radiator grille gets a design refresh, and the bumper receives a black finish. A silver trim surrounds the bottom half of the radiator grille, adding to its aesthetic appeal. The H-shaped LED DRLs are connected by a smooth trim with the ‘EXTER’ lettering. Along the sides, the SUV rests on newly-designed 15-inch alloy wheels. The wheel arches are muscular, and the C-pillar gets a new garnish. At the back, the SUV gets a new wing-type spoiler. Additionally, Hyundai has added 2 new paint schemes for the SUV – Golden Bronze and Titanium Black Matte.
Inside, the 2026 Hyundai Exter gets a new dual-tone Navy and Grey colour theme. The outgoing model has all-black interiors. The facelift sports a 3D carbon pattern finish for the dashboard and a D-cut steering wheel. The semi-fabric seat upholstery flaunts the Exter branding. Features like adjustable rear headrests and height-adjustable driver’s seat have been made standard across all variants. The foldable driver’s armrest brings comfort on long drives. The rear seat passengers now get access to USB-C charging ports. The facelift retains the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and the 8-inch digital instrument cluster of the outgoing model, but adds wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support via an adapter.
On the safety front, the SUV rocks 30 standard features, including 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC). Higher trims get access to over 45 advanced safety features.
No mechanical changes have been made to the Hyundai Exter facelift. It continues to be powered by the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 83hp and 114Nm of torque. It can be paired with a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. In a CNG guise, the SUV puts out 69hp and 95.2Nm. The CNG variants are available with manual transmission only.
Mr Tarun Garg, Managing Director & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said, “Since its debut, the Hyundai EXTER has received an overwhelming response, earning the trust of over 2 lakh customers across India.
