Citroen C3 Aircross: What to expect?

Underpinning the Citroen C3 Aircross is the same CMP modular platform found in its hatchback cousin. The SUV stands at dimensions of 4,323mm x 1,796mm x 1,669mm and has a wheelbase of 2,671mm. Citroen will offer the C3 Aircross with 5-person and 7-person seating options. The 5-seater variant will have a boot space capacity of 511 litres.

Citroen C3 Aircross will get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, steering-mounted controls, roof-mounted AC vents, keyless entry, and other features. However, since it is available in a single trim option, it will miss out on features like wireless charging, automatic climate control, sunroof, and ventilated seats. On the safety front, the C3 Aircross will get dual airbags, ABS with EBD, TPMS, Hill hold assist, and more.

Under the hood, the Citroen C3 Aircross gets a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 110hp and 190Nm of torque on the C3 hatchback. This engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. There is neither an option for an automatic transmission nor does the SUV get any other powertrains. The C3 Aircross offers a mileage of 18.5 kmpl.

Conclusion

As mentioned earlier, prices for the Citroen C3 Aircross will be revealed upon launch. The automaker also plans on launching an all-electric version of the SUV next year. Since it misses out on a bunch of premium features, the pricing of the SUV will determine its popularity in the segment. Upon launch, the Citroen C3 Aircross will rival Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq.
