The S-Class facelift flaunts a 20% larger illuminated grille with four horizontal bars instead of three. The hot-stamp chrome stars give it a 3D depth effect. The next-gen twin-star ‘Digital Light’ micro-LED headlamps deliver a 40% larger high-resolution illumination field compared to the current model. Things remain largely unchanged along the sides, with the standout highlight being the 20-spoke wheels with a 50-cross-spoke design. At the back, the sleek LED tail lamps incorporate the three chrome-framed signature stars in their design.
The bigger updates lie inside as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class features a completely redesigned dashboard layout with a full-width Superscreen. This setup comprises two 12.3-inch displays for the driver and the front passenger, along with a giant 14.4-inch central touchscreen infotainment unit. The new MB OS offers an accessible interface to control the vital functions of the car (including headlamps, cameras, powertrain, etc.). The digital assistant is powered by ChatGPT, Gemini, and Bing. The S-Class now supports OTA updates.
The back row gets two 13.1-inch entertainment displays, which are mounted at the back of the front seats. These displays come with two small touch controllers. They are equipped with HD cameras, making it easy to take meetings on the go. Rear seat passengers also get access to fast-charging USB-C ports, wireless charging, a refrigerated compartment, temperature-controlled cupholders, folding tables for working/eating, and more.
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has retained the powertrain of the current model, but the engines are now compliant with Euro 7 emission standards. Both engines are mated to a 48V mild hybrid system with a 17kW Integrated Starter Generator (ISG). The ‘M 177 Evo’ V8 engine generates a maximum power output of 537hp and 750Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 6-cylinder ‘M 256 Evo’ petrol engine has been updated to deliver 600Nm of torque. In Overtorque mode, it can hit 640Nm for a short period of time. This engine can now drive up to 100km on electric power alone.
