2022 Suzuki Baleno spied with updated aesthetics

While the company is pushing hard to make all its cars future-ready by introducing the next-gen of each. The 2022 Suzuki Baleno was spotted being tested on the roads of Gurugram, Haryana. An Indian YouTuber with the channel name Peanut Putter Vlogs captured the video of this new upcoming facelift by Maruti Suzuki. Earlier there were a lot of images of the next-gen Celerio that were surfacing before it got released a few days ago.

The next-gen Alto has also been spotted being tested on Indian roads on multiple occasions. WE can clearly guess that the Indo-Japanese company is pushing hard to bring more and more new generations of cars to Indian consumers. The car was spotted being tested earlier as well, but now in this video, we can see that the car will receive some good cosmetic updates. Since the launch of Baleno back in 2015 the car only received a minor facelift in 2019. So the company deciding to offer a new-gen upgrade is probably the right move.

Like the last time, this prototype was also under heavy camouflage and in the images, we can see a fuel emission testing kit attached to the rear for making it BS-VI ready. The newly designed tail light LED can be seen in the image and also a smaller LED strip over the rear screen. The alloy in the test mule also seems changed from the previous gen and also there is freshly designed daytime running DRLs giving the car a future-ready look.

The front grill gets a redesign along with the chunky rear doors. Unlike the previous gen the upcoming Baleno sports a prominent spoiler enchanting the look of this premium hatchback. Other features like the windscreen, round back design, rear wiper and more are taken from the current-gen. Talking about the interior changes, the 2022 Baleno will get a completely new redesigned dashboard. The car will get a revised floating infotainment system with the support of Android Auto and Apple Carplay. While cruise control keyless entry, push start/stop and auto climate control can be spotted in higher trims.

The powertrain used for the car will be the latest 1.2-litre K12M VVT petrol unit based on the new Heartech platform producing 82 bhp of power and 113 Nm of peak torque. The other engine option can be a 1.2-litre Dualjet unit with SHVS mild-hybrid tech kicking the same power but 120 Nm of peak torque. The mild-hybrid technology will fetch in some more mileage and initial pickup. Transmission options will be 5 speed manual or CVT for the VVt variants.
