After the successful launch of the 3 door Jimny, which is being manufactured in India, Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5 door was spotted on the streets. Although 3 doors Jimny is only available for export it is expected that this long-wheelbase version is likely to be launched in 2022 in India. It will directly give competition to H2 2022. The undisguised version was spotted in lime green colour which the 3 doors Jimny is also available for in many countries. Here is what we know about the SUV.

As assumed the dimensions of the Jimny will match the international specked one. The SUV will weigh 1,190 Kg with a decent ground clearance of 210mm. The wheelbase of Jimny will be 2,550mm which is 300mm more than the 3 door version.
With 3,850mm in length, 1,645mm in width and 1,730mm in height, there will be more interior space and a ton of legroom for the passengers. The rest of the features look similar to the 3 door Jimny with rounded LED headlamps, round angled bumpers. The 5 door Jimny is expected to get a new grille design, distinctive wheel and rear lamps.
According to Indian trends, the Indian version of Suzuki Jimny will have a 7-inch touch screen infotainment system with the support for Android Auto and Apple car play. It will also include all the basic features like auto climate control rear AC vents and cruise control. Safety features like dual front airbags, rear parking sensors with camera and hill hold assist comes as standard.

It is expected that the Indian version of Jimny will share the same engine as Ciaz, Ertiga and Vitara Brezza. The 1.5 Liter petrol produces 102 hp of power and 130 Nm of torque. The Engine comes with both a 5-speed manual and 4 speed automatic.
It’s still unclear for now what will be the exact engine specs that the company will offer in this SUV. As we know there are 1.4 turbo petrol engines available for other cars in the international market with AWD for Jimny. Let’s wait for 2022 to come and see what the company has up its sleeves. It is expected for Jimny to launch at 10lakhs ex-showroom in India, which will be a great price, to begin with.
