2022 Honda ZR-V SUV is expected to make its debut next month

A new mysterious car was tested by Honda all of a sudden and we expect it to be the new 2022 Honda ZR-V. During the next generation BR-V launch event in Indonesia where the car got some juicy updates. Now the new updated WR-V also gets a taller stance which makes it look more like an SUV than an MPV. A new platform is underpinned which will be used in future cars of Honda as well. This new platform is claimed to be more legit and tough than the previous one.

At the end of the launch event, a teaser of the car was shown to the public and it can be a new upcoming SUV by Honda. We can expect it to be in the same newer architecture in which the new BR-V has been launched. The car will be a direct competition to SUV crossover cars in India like Brezza and Nexon. The car is guessed to be a smaller variant of BR-V and will be in a 5 seater layout. Not only the platform but the A-pillar, door and interior will also be similar and inspired.

The Japanese carmaker is likely to showcase this car in Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2021(GIIAS). After the event, we can expect the same SUV to be released at the end of next year. Last year, reports surfaced from Japanese media that the company is working on a new SUV which is named ZR-V. There were many digital renderings available online.

The details of the car are very less but according to the situation, it could share the 1.2-litre i-Vtec naturally aspirated petrol engine with Honda Amaze. The same is capable of producing 89 bhp of maximum power and 110 Nm of peak torque. The second option with which the company can go will be a 1.5-litre i-Vtec petrol engine powering the Honda City. The Engine is capable of producing 120 bhp of power and 145 Nm of peak torque.

Just like other cars in the international market, this new SUV will also likely get an RS variant. If the SUV is released in India for which the chances are slim it will lock horns against Kia Sonet, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon and more. For now, all we can say is that Honda is getting ready for the BR-V for the Indian market and it will be released soon.
