BYD Sealion 7: Current prices expire on December 31

The BYD Sealion 7 comes in 2 variants – Premium and Performance. These variants are priced at Rs 48.90 lakh and Rs 54.90 lakh, respectively. While BYD has announced that it will be revising the prices for both variants next year, it has not mentioned the reason behind the hike. The exact price bump has not been disclosed by the automaker either.

The Premium variant is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor. It generates a maximum power output of 313hp and 380Nm of torque. It can go from 0-100km/h in 6.7 seconds. The Performance variant uses a dual electric motor setup, with one motor mounted on each axle. It produces a maximum power output of 530hp and 690Nm of torque. It can go from 0-100km/h in just 4.5 seconds. Both variants are equipped with an 82.56kWh battery pack. The Premium variant has a driving range of 567km, while the Performance variant can go up to 542km on a full charge.

The Sealion 7 is decked with exquisite features. Its dashboard flaunts a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system and a free-floating digital instrument cluster. Other features include a heads-up display, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and heated seating, 12 Dynaudio speakers, 50W wireless charging, ambient lighting with 128 colour options, premium quilted Nappa leather seats, and more. On the safety front, the SUV packs a 360 camera, 11 airbags, and an ADAS package.

Both variants of the Sealion 7 have the same feature list. They are cosmetically alike as well. The only difference lies in the powertrain. The electric SUV is 4,830mm long and has a 2,930mm wheelbase. It follows BYD’s ‘Ocean X’ design language. The LED headlamps and tail lamps are sleek and sporty. The profile of the SUV is very aerodynamic, featuring smooth character lines. The bold appearance of the front and rear bumpers matches the sporty aesthetic.

Final Thoughts

BYD has sold over 2,000 units of the Sealion 7 since its launch. Buyers can book the SUV at its current price until December 31, 2025. The new prices will be revealed next month. The Sealion 7 rivals the Tesla Model Y, Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Volvo EX40 in India.
