BYD Sealion 7 Festive Edition: What’s new?

The Festive Edition of the BYD Sealion 7 gets a dual-tone black-and-tan colour theme for its interior. This scheme is present on the cabin, dashboard, upholstery, centre console, and door panels. No changes have been made to the exterior design of the EV.

The instrumentation and feature list remain unchanged as well. The Sealion 7 continues to offer a 15.6-inch rotatable touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. The infotainment system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include powered and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker sound system, 50W wireless charging, ambient lighting with 128 colour options, premium quilted Nappa leather seats, and more. Safety features include 11 airbags, a 360-degree camera, and a Level 2 ADAS package.

No changes have been made under the hood of the EV either. The rear-mounted electric motor generates a maximum power output of 313hp and 380Nm of torque. It can go from 0-100kmph in 6.7 seconds. The 82.56kWh battery pack offers a driving range of 567km on a full charge.

Since it is based on the Premium trim, the Festive Edition of the BYD Sealion 7 is not available with an All Wheel Drive (AWD) configuration. This feature is reserved for the top-spec Performance trim. This trim generates a maximum power output of 530hp and 690Nm of torque. It can go from 0-100kmph in just 4.5 seconds. It uses the same 82.56kWh battery pack as the premium trim but offers a driving range of 542km.

Mr Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business, BYD India, said,“As we continue to expand our presence in India’s premium electric vehicle segment, we are focused on creating products and experiences that resonate with the evolving aspirations of Indian customers. The SEALION 7 Festive Edition is an extension of that approach, bringing a distinctive Tan & Black interior to the Premium variant in a limited run for the festive season. At its core, it retains the technology, safety and performance that define the SEALION 7, while offering customers a differentiated expression of the model. With this edition, we look forward to building on the strong response the SEALION 7 has received in India.”

Final Thoughts

Back in August, BYD added a new entry-level Dynamic trim to the Sealion 7’s lineup. Prices for the electric SUV start at Rs 41.90 lakh and go up to Rs 55.90 lakh. It rivals the Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and BMW iX1 LWB in India.
