The XUV 3XO CNG is powered by the automaker’s 1.2-litre MPFI (multi-point fuel injection) turbocharged engine. It produces the same output in CNG and petrol modes – 111hp and 200Nm. Mahindra has made this possible through optimised turbocharger calibration, ECU mapping, and a 10-bar CNG injection system. The CNG variant is only available in a 6-speed manual gearbox option. It offers a mileage 24.7km/kg. When the SUV is running low on fuel, it can automatically switch to petrol mode. It can go from 0-60 km/h in 4.9 seconds and 0-100 km/h in 11.8 seconds in CNG mode.
Other powertrain options for the ICE version of the XUV 3XO include a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder mStallion direct-injection turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The former generates a maximum power output of 131hp and 230Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the diesel engine churns out 117hp and 300Nm.
The compact SUV also comes in an all-electric avatar. The XUV 3XO EV is powered by a front-mounted electric motor which generates a maximum power output of 150hp and 310Nm of torque. Its 39.4kWh battery pack can go up to 285km on a full charge. A 50kW DC fast charger takes up to 50 minutes to charge the SUV from 0 to 80%. There are 3 drive modes on offer – Fun, Fast and Fearless.
Other than special ‘ZNG’ badging, no changes have been made to the CNG version of the XUV 3XO. Its interior layout is identical to the standard model as well. Its dashboard packs a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a 10.25-inch panel for the instrument cluster. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, leatherette seating, and more. The dual-tank setup has a combined fuel capacity of 270 litres.
