Bookings open for Citroen Aircross X

Citroen India has started accepting bookings for the X trim of the Aircross SUV. Buyers can book their unit of the Citroen Aircross X for a token amount of Rs 11,000. The automaker is currently in the process of adding a new top-spec X trim across all its offerings. A new teaser for the upcoming top-spec Aircross variant has also been released.

Citroen Aircross X: Everything we know so far

Citroen’s teaser reveal for the Aircross X hints at a new dark green paint shade for the SUV. Like other X trims, it will carry an exclusive ‘X’ badging on its tailgate. No other cosmetic changes are expected on the SUV.

Inside, the Aircross X will get a more premium dashboard. It will likely have a soft leatherette finish. There will be leatherette upholstery on board as well. The top-spec model could feature a dual-tone interior theme. In terms of feature upgrades, it will rock a 360-degree camera (at an additional cost of Rs 25,000), auto-dimming IVRM, white ambient lighting, push-button start/stop, and LED fog lamps.

Citroen’s new ‘CARA’ AI assistant will make it to the Citroen Aircross X. This digital assistant brings a conversational flow to the car’s controls. It supports up to 52 languages. You can request it to carry out tasks like fetching stock prices, match scores, flight updates, weather forecasts, traffic updates, and more. It can also check the fuel level and tyre pressure. In emergencies, it can contact SOS services.

No mechanical changes are expected on the Aircross X. Being the top-spec variant, it will be powered by the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine. This engine generates a maximum power output of 110hp and 190Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox (where it produces 205Nm of torque). The lower variants are powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that puts out 82hp and 115Nm. This engine can only be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Final Thoughts

Prices for the Aircross X will be revealed in the coming weeks. Citroen will likely reduce the prices of all the variants of the SUV to make it more accessible to the public. As things stand, the Aircross rivals Maruti Suzuki Grand VitaraToyota Urban Cruiser HyRyderKia SeltosHyundai CretaVolkswagen TaigunHonda Elevate, and Skoda Kushaq.
