Audi A5 e-hybrid: Everything you need to know

The Audi A5 e-hybrid is powered by a 2-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces a maximum power output of 252hp. This engine is linked to an electric motor that produces 142hp. The e-hybrid model is available in 2 power levels – 300hp, 450Nm and 367hp, 500Nm. The hybrid engine setup is linked to a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The power generated from the engines is channeled to all four wheels.

The Audi A5 e-hybrid uses a 25.9kWh battery pack for its electric motor. This battery pack can power the car for 110km in electric-only mode. It supports 11kW charging. A home charger can fully charge the battery pack in 2.5 hours. The car can be driven in hybrid and electric modes.

The sporty variant of the Audi A5 e-hybrid with the higher power output gets an S line exterior package, a black styling package, and privacy glazing. This gives the car a more dynamic look. Other than these additions, the hybrid model is cosmetically identical to the petrol and diesel variants.

Inside, the Audi A5 e-hybrid gets a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 11.9-inch digital driver’s display. Other features include a 3-zone automatic air conditioning system, an auxiliary air conditioning system, seat heating, seat ventilation, steering wheel heating, a remote-control key, connected car tech, and more.

Gernot Döllner, Audi CEO, said, “As part of our model initiative, we are significantly expanding our range of plug-in hybrids in 2025. Outputting up to 270 kilowatts, our new generation of plug-in hybrid models offers a sporty and comfortable driving experience as well as a harmonious balance between performance and efficiency.” Geoffrey Bouquot, Member of the Board of Management for Technical Development at AUDI AG, adds: “The increased electric range of our new plug-in hybrids enables our customers to cover the majority of their daily journeys using only electric power. Our hybrid technology combines the best of both worlds and provides a high degree of flexibility for everyday life. And with the new technology designation ‘e-hybrid,’ this is now also recognizable at first glance.”
