Jaguar Land Rover has started accepting bookings for the Range Rover Electric in India. Buyers can reserve their model for a token amount of Rs 10 lakh. The standard wheelbase version of the electric SUV comes in a single Autobiography trim, while the long wheelbase model is available in SV, SV Ultra, and SV Black trim levels. There’s a special ‘First’ Edition on offer as well.

Range Rover Electric: Everything you need to know
The Range Rover Electric is underpinned by the MLA-Flex platform. This architecture is also present on the ICE and PHEV versions of the SUV. The EV doesn’t differ radically in terms of design from its ICE sibling. The design of the LED headlamps, DRLs, and tail lamps has been retained. There is no special ‘Electric’ badging on the EV either. The only distinguisher is the cutout for the charging port. The front grille and alloy wheels are aerodynamically‑optimised. The automaker says that the EV follows the principle of being a Range Rover first and Electric second. The special ‘First’ Edition comes in 3 paint shades – Belgravia Green, Santorini Black, and Varesine Blue.
No changes have been made to the interior either. The layout, design, and colour themes have been carried over from the ICE model. There is a 13.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 13.7-inch digital driver’s display on the dashboard. There is support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, multi-zone climate control, a premium sound system, wireless charging, and more. The seats have heating, massaging, and ventilation functions.
The Range Rover Electric is powered by two 260kW electric motors. It generates a maximum power output of 550hp and 850Nm of torque. The SUV can go from 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds. The 118.5kWh battery pack offers a driving range of 600km (WLTP). It is compatible with 350kW DC chargers, going from 10-80% in just 22 minutes. A quick 10-minute charge can power the SUV for up to 220km.

Final Thoughts
The Range Rover Electric will be imported to India as a Completely Built-up Unit. It is expected to be priced above Rs 3 crore. Upon launch, it will rival the Mercedes-Benz EQS and BMW iX in India.
