Honda Rebel 300 launched in India at Rs 2.22 lakh

Honda Rebel 300 has gone on sale in India at a starting price of Rs 2.22 lakh. The motorcycle comes in 2 variants – Standard and E-Clutch. The latter fetches Rs 2.62 lakh. Honda has started accepting bookings for the low-slung motorbike. Buyers can place their order for a token amount of Rs 5,000. Deliveries will commence in mid-October. The Rebel 300 is manufactured locally in India. It will be retailed exclusively through Honda BigWing dealerships.

Honda Rebel 300: What’s on offer?

Here is the price list for the Honda Rebel 300.

The Rebel 300 has a low-slung bobber-like design. The compact fuel tank has a teardrop-shaped look. The exposed frame has several blacked-out elements. Up front, the motorbike gets a round LED headlamp. The split seat setup sits low on the cruiser. The handlebar is upright to facilitate a relaxed riding position. There are disc brakes on both wheels. The exhaust has a short stature. The circular TFT panel supports smartphone connectivity via Honda RoadSync and turn-by-turn navigation. There’s dual-channel ABS on board as well.

Powering the Honda Rebel 300 is a 286cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. This is the same engine as the one on the Honda CB300R. It generates a maximum power output of 30hp and 27.5Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox on both variants.

The E-Clutch variant uses electronic actuators to operate the clutch automatically. This lets the rider switch gears without pressing the clutch lever. It can be configured via the TFT panel to revert to manual operation. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the back. The 16-inch wheels use a 130-section front tyre with a 90-section profile and a 150-section rear tyre with an 80-section profile. As we mentioned earlier, these tyres are equipped with dual-channel ABS.

As mentioned earlier, the delivery rollout will begin in mid-October. The cruiser primarily rivals Royal Enfield’s offerings like the Meteor 350 and Goan Classic. Its E-Clutch configuration gives it the edge over other motorbikes in its price category.
