Hyundai Venue crosses 1 lakh bookings, gets a new Diesel-AT variant

Hyundai Motor India has announced that the Venue has crossed the 1 lakh bookings milestone. The 2nd-gen Hyundai Venue was launched in November 2025 at a starting price of Rs 7.90 lakh. The introduction of the next-gen model saw a renewed demand for the SUV. To celebrate the 1 lakh bookings landmark, Hyundai has launched a new entry-level Diesel-AT variant for the Venue. Priced at Rs 13.70 lakh, the HX8 variant makes the powertrain affordable by Rs 1.81 lakh.

2nd-gen Hyundai Venue: What does the HX8 Diesel-AT variant offer?

Previously, the Diesel-AT powertrain was available only on the top-spec HX10 trim, which is currently priced at Rs 15.51 lakh. The HX8 variant is available with the following features:

  • Front row ventilated seats
  • Dual-tone leatherette seats with VENUE branding
  • 4-way adjustable electric driver seat adjust
  • Over-the-Air (OTA) vehicle updates
  • Hyundai Bluelink (Connected car technology)
  • Electric Parking Brake (EPB) with auto hold

  • Ambient lighting – Crash pad and Central console
  • Drive mode selects (Eco, Normal, Sport)
  • Traction control modes (Sand, Mud, Snow)

The HX8 variant misses out on features like front and rear parking sensors, dual 12.3-inch curved panoramic displays, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, electrochromic IVRM, and Level 2 ADAS. It uses a 10.25-inch display for the touchscreen infotainment system and a 4.2-inch TFT colour screen for the instrument cluster.

The 1.5-litre four-cylinder CRDi diesel engine generates a maximum power output of 116hp and 250Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The SUV is also available in Kappa 1.2-litre MPi petrol and Kappa 1.0-litre turbo GDi petrol engine options. The former puts out 82hp and 114.7Nm. It can be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The turbo-petrol unit produces a maximum power output of 118hp and 172Nm of torque. Transmission options for this engine include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT transmission with Idle Stop and Go (ISG).

Final Thoughts

Prices for the 2nd-gen Venue lineup start at Rs 8 lakh and go up to Rs 15.69 lakh. The SUV currently demands a 2-4 week waiting period. It rivals the Kia SonetTata NexonMahindra XUV 3XOSkoda KylaqMaruti Suzuki Fronx, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza in India.
