Volkswagen Tayron R-Line: What’s on offer?
The Tayron R-Line is a spiritual successor to the Tiguan Allspace. The 7-seater SUV is underpinned by the MQB EVO platform and stands at dimensions of 4,735mm x 1,859mm x 1,682mm and has a 2,789mm wheelbase. Like other R-Line variants in Volkswagen’s catalogue, the Tayron R-Line gets exclusive badging. Its headlamps and wraparound tail lamps have the IQ.LIGHT LED Matrix signature. The Volkswagen logos at the front and back are illuminated. Along the sides, the SUV rocks strong character lines and 19-inch ‘Coventry’ diamond-turned alloy wheels.
The front seats of the Tayron R-Line are draped in premium Varenna leather upholstery. They are equipped with ergoActive Plus technology, 10-point pressure massage, and active ventilation. The dashboard flaunts a new 15-inch floating touchscreen infotainment with support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The SUV has three seating rows. The boot space capacity of the vehicle can be expanded to 850 litres by folding the third row. The panoramic sunroof of the SUV is large enough to cover all three rows.
The India-spec Volkswagen Tayron R-Line shares its powertrain with the Tiguan R-Line. The 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 204hp and 320Nm of torque. It is linked to a 7-speed DCT. The SUV comes with AWD, which means the power produced by the engine is channelled to all four wheels. The Tayron R-Line can go from 0-100km/h in 7.3 seconds. Its top speed is capped at 224km/h.
