Skoda Octavia RS: What to expect?
The Octavia RS model about to go on sale in India broke cover internationally last year. The front and rear bumpers of the sedan have received styling tweaks. The radiator grille gets an ‘RS’ logo. Flanking either side of the grille are 2nd-gen LED Matrix headlamps. These headlamps are integrated with LED DRLs. There’s a black finish on the grille frame, side-window trim, wing mirror covers, roof rails, rear-bumper diffuser, and exhaust tailpipes. The sedan rests on 19-inch alloy wheels. It is available in an exclusive ‘Mamba Green’ paint shade. Other colour options include Magic Black, Candy White, Race Blue, and Velvet Red.

Inside, the Octavia RS is decked with a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, and a head-up display. Other premium features include an 11-speaker Canton sound system, three-zone automatic climate control, powered front seats with heating and massage functions, and more. Skoda’s Chat GPT-powered in-house digital assistant, ‘Laura’, can be summoned on the infotainment system. The ‘Phone Box’ section in the centre console offers 15W wireless and 45W wired charging while keeping the devices cool. On the safety front, the sedan offers 10 airbags and an ADAS suite.

Under the hood, the Skoda Octavia RS will get a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. This engine generates a maximum power output of 265hp and 370Nm of torque. It is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission that transmits the power to all four wheels. The sedan can go from 0-100km/h in 6.4 seconds. Its top speed is capped at 250km/h.

The international model of the sedan comes in 2 more engine options. The 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 114hp. This engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. There’s also a 2.0-litre diesel engine on offer. It produces 113hp, but it can also be had in a 147hp version with a DSG automatic gearbox.
