Current Glanza
Toyota Glanza is set to receive a facelift next month. The updated model will be unveiled on October 14. Its Maruti counterpart, Baleno, was launched in India last week at a starting price of Rs 6.10 lakh. The Glanza will receive the same powertrain and features. It will distinguish itself with a different front fascia. Toyota Kirloskar Motor will open the booking window for the hatchback in the coming weeks.

The front fascia of the Toyota Glanza separates it from its Maruti sibling. The updated model will get a redesigned grille and bumper up front. The LED headlamps and DRLs will likely be retained from the current model. Along the sides, the alloy wheels could get slight tweaks. The rear section will not get any big updates either, as it is expected to carry forward the design of the current model.
The interior of the Glanza facelift will resemble that of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. The dashboard will rock a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. There won’t be a digital instrument cluster yet on the hatchback, as it will continue with the MID unit from the current model. Feature additions will include Qi-certified wireless charging with a cooling function, a new sound system, and a ventilation function for the front seats.
The biggest highlight of the Toyota Glanza facelift will be its Level 2 ADAS package. This suite will comprise functions like Advanced Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Lane Departure Prevention (LDP), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), High Beam Assist (HBA), Vehicle Sway Warning (VSW), and Forward Collision Warning (FCW). Other safety features will include 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Emergency Stop Signal, Hill Hold Control, Reverse Parking Sensors, 3-Point Seat Belts, Seat Belt Reminders, and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
The current Glanza is powered by the 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder ‘K12N’ petrol engine. It generates a maximum power output of 90hp and 113Nm of torque. This engine will be replaced by the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated ‘Z12E’ engine. This unit churns out 83hp and 112Nm, and can be mated to a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. In a CNG configuration, the output drops to 70hp and 102Nm. This powertrain offers a fuel economy of 33.61km/kg. Meanwhile, the manual and AMT petrol powertrains offer a mileage of 23.80km/l and 24.77km/l, respectively.
