Tata Tiago facelift spotted testing, launch imminent

The facelifted version of the Tata Tiago ICE was recently spotted testing right outside of Pune. The compact hatchback is expected to launch in India this summer. The test mule was covered in heavy camouflage, with large parts of its LED headlamps and taillights under covers. The Tiago was last updated in January 2025. Its all-electric version will be updated later this year.

Tata Tiago facelift: What to expect?

The Tata Tiago facelift will get a slew of cosmetic updates. Up front, its headlights may feature projector LEDs with LED turn indicators. The Tata logo will be positioned at the centre of the trim connecting the two headlamps. The bumper will be reworked, and the fog lamp housings will be placed lower than their position on the current model. The hatchback will retain its profile but will get a new pattern for its alloy wheels. At the back, the LED taillamps will get LED turn indicators with vertical lighting elements. The bumper may also get a few tweaks.

No big changes are expected inside the 2026 Tata Tiago. Its dashboard will have an identical layout to the current model. It will feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8-inch TFT instrument cluster. There will be support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features like push-button start, auto-dimming IVRM, a 360-degree camera, rear AC vents, front seat armrest, auto headlights, automatic climate control, and more are expected to make the cut.

No changes are expected under the hood of the Tata Tiago facelift. It will continue to be powered by a 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. On the current model, this engine generates a maximum power output of 86hp. It can be mated to a 5-speed manual or automatic gearbox. In a CNG guise, the hatchback puts out 73hp and 95Nm. The all-electric Tiago is powered by a Permanent Synchronous Motor. It generates a maximum power output of 75hp and 114Nm of torque. There are two battery options on offer. Tata claims a driving range of 315 km for the 24kWh battery pack and 250km for the 19.2kWh unit. Test mules of the Tiago EV have also been spotted on Indian roads this year.

Final Thoughts

Prices for the current Tiago lineup start at Rs 4.57 lakh and go up to Rs 7.82 lakh. The facelifted model will demand a small premium over these prices. Upon launch, it will rival the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Citroen C3, and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios in India.
