Tata Sierra EV is set to go on sale on June 30. Ahead of the launch, Tata Motors has dropped a promotional video for the EV, revealing its full avatar. It is a direct conversion of its ICE counterpart. The all-electric model gets a few design tweaks. Its mechanical specs will be revealed upon launch, although it is all but confirmed that it will share its powertrain with the Harrier EV.

The promotional video of the Tata Sierra EV confirms everything we knew about its resemblance to the ICE Sierra. Since the former is an ICE-to-EV conversion model, it does not depart radically in terms of design. It gets some EV-exclusive tweaks in the form of a shut-off grille and ‘Sierra.ev’ badging on the doors and tailgate.
Unlike the ICE model, the EV doesn’t feature the ‘Sierra’ lettering below the light bar. The two cars have identical profiles and rear sections. The Sierra EV in the promo video has a silver shade, which isn’t offered on the ICE model. Tata could introduce more new colour options for the all-electric SUV.
The interior layout, instrumentation, and features still remain a mystery, at least until June 30. The Tata Sierra EV is expected to retain the dashboard and cabin design of the ICE model. It will come with the panoramic setup comprising three 12.3-inch displays for the instrument cluster, infotainment system, and passenger entertainment system. The driver’s cockpit will be equipped with a Heads-Up Display (HUD).
Buyers can also expect features like ventilated front seats, a 6-way powered driver’s seat ( with memory function), a 12-speaker JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos, ambient lighting, birthday celebration mode, relax mode, and more on the Sierra EV. On the safety front, it will get 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with Auto Hold, rear occupant sensor, perimetric alarm sensor, a 360-degree Surround View System, a Level 2 ADAS package with 22 functions, and more features.
As mentioned earlier, the Sierra EV is expected to borrow its battery and powertrain from the Harrier EV. The latter comes in 2 battery pack options – 65kWh and 75kWh. The 65kWh offers a 538km driving range (ARAI). Tata’s internal C75 testing puts its range between 420 and 445 km. Meanwhile, the 75kWh battery pack offers 622km MIDC-certified range (480-505km C75 range). The RWD variants generate a maximum power output of 238hp and 315Nm of torque. The AWD variants put out 390hp and 594Nm.

As mentioned earlier, the prices for all the variants of the Tata Sierra EV will be revealed on June 30. We expect it to fetch up to Rs 19 lakh for the entry-level variant. Upon launch, it will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Mahindra BE 6, and VinFast VF6.
