MG Motor has dropped another teaser for its upcoming big SUV. The MG Majestor is set to launch in India on February 12. Ahead of the launch, the automaker has revealed the SUV’s front fascia in a teaser video. The Majestor will be placed above the Gloster in MG’s catalogue, effectively becoming the automaker’s flagship ICE SUV in India.

The front fascia of the MG Majestor flaunts a massive grille with a horizontal pattern. The MG logo is studded at the centre of the grille. The headlamps are stacked vertically on either side, surrounded by L-shaped LED DRLs. The DRLs are not connected by a light bar, but the tail lamps are connected by LED lighting elements. The bottom section rocks a faux skid plate. The SUV will likely stand at dimensions of 5,046mm x 2,016mm x 1,876mm and will have a 2,950mm wheelbase.
Inside, the Majestor will borrow design elements from the Gloster SUV. While the cabin may share some similarities, the dashboard will be equipped with a larger 12.3-inch infotainment system, and the steering wheel will sport a new look. Other features like automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, powered seating, wireless charging, ADAS and more are also expected to make the cut. The SUV will have a massive 2,383l boot space capacity with the 2nd and 3rd row seats folded.
MG Motor has kept a tight lid on the powertrain specs of the Majestor. We expect to carry forward MG Gloster’s 2-litre, four-cylinder, twin-turbocharged diesel engine. This engine generates a maximum power output of 215hp and 478Nm on the Gloster. It is mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. We wouldn’t be surprised if MG tunes this engine to produce a higher output on the Majestor.
The Gloster also comes with the option of a 2-litre single-turbo diesel engine. It generates a maximum power output of 161hp and 373Nm of torque. This engine is not likely to make it on the Majestor.

As mentioned earlier, the Majestor will sit at the top of MG Motor’s ICE catalogue in India. It will be pricier than the Gloster. We expect it to fetch over Rs 40 lakh. Upon launch, it will rival the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Mahindra Alturas G4, Isuzu MU-X, Jeep Meridian, and Kia Carnival.
