Mahindra Auto is in the process of road testing the facelifted version of its iconic XUV700 SUV. The test mules of the Mahindra XUV700 facelift were spotted on a road test earlier this week. Mahindra XUV700 facelift: What do the spy shots suggest?

Draped under heavy camouflage, the most recent XUV700 test mule had very little to give away. However, up close shots of its front fascia reveal a new design for its LED headlamps. Mahindra will ditch reflector headlamps for projector units. The look of the LED DRLs will be reworked as well. It will be the next step in the evolution of the current C-shaped design. The profile of the facelifted model will be identical to the outgoing one. It will feature flush-sitting door handles and a new design for the alloy wheels.

Inside, the Mahindra XUV700 will get the same triple-screen infotainment system as the XEV 9e. It will also borrow the steering wheel design from Mahindra’s new-gen EV. The audio duties will be handled by a 16-speaker Hardon Kardon sound system instead of a Sony setup. The SUV will also get auto-dimming IVRMs. A Level 2 or above ADAS package is also expected to make it to the facelifted model.

The Mahindra XUV700 facelift will get no mechanical upgrades. The SUV will continue with its 2 engine options. The 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 200hp and 380Nm of torque. The 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine is available in two tune levels. In entry-level variants, it generates a maximum power output of 155hp and 360Nm of torque. Whereas, in top-spec variants, this turbo diesel engine produces a maximum power output of 185hp and 420Nm. Paired with an automatic transmission, the torque output jumps to 450Nm. Both engines can be paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.
