Mahindra inaugurates 180kW fast charging network

Mahindra has inaugurated its 180kW fast charging network in India. The automaker plans to set up 250 EV charging stations by the end of 2027. Each charging station comprises two 180W ultrafast chargers that are capable of charging 4 EVs at once. As of now, the ‘Charge_IN’ network extends to Hoskote on NH 75, Bengaluru – Chennai highway and Murthal on NH44, about 50 km from Delhi.

Mahindra Charge_IN: Building India’s high-speed charging backbone

The Charge_IN stations in Hoskote and Murthal are equipped with two 180kW fast chargers each. A single charging station can power up to 4 EVs at a time. These dual gun chargers can charge the Mahindra XEV 9e, BE 6, and upcoming XEV 9S from 20 to 80% in just 20 minutes.

Mahindra EV owners can access the Charge_IN network from the automaker’s Me4U app. This app lets users discover nearby stations, charge their EVs, and make the necessary payments. It has almost 34,000 public charging point listings across various Charge Point Operators. Non-Mahindra EV owners can access the automaker’s in-house charging network from the Charge_IN by Mahindra app as well as other aggregator platforms.

Mr Nalinikanth Gollagunta, Chief Executive Officer – Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. and Executive Director, Mahindra Electric Automobile Ltd., said, “Electric mobility is about driving a larger shift towards cleaner, sustainable transportation. XEV 9e and BE 6, with their impressive 500 km real-world range, ensure drivers feel confident on long journeys. Meanwhile, with our ultrafast charging network by Charge_IN we will be creating an open and accessible network for all EV users. Our aim is to make long-distance travel with an electric vehicle effortless and reliable like conventional driving, thereby building customer confidence and accelerating India’s transition to electric mobility.”

The Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e recently completed their first anniversary in India. To celebrate the occasion, Mahindra has introduced a discount package for the two EVs for the first time since their launch. The Rs 1.55 lakh discount package includes a 7.2kW AC fast charger worth Rs 50,000, free public charging worth Rs 20,000, free accessories worth Rs 30,000, exchange/loyalty benefits worth Rs 30,000, and corporate bonuses worth Rs 25,000. Only 5,000 units of the two EVs are eligible for these discounts.
