Volvo EX30 launched in India at Rs 39.99 lakh

Volvo has added a new all-electric SUV to its Indian portfolio. The Volvo EX30 was launched earlier today at an introductory price of Rs 39.99 lakh. This introductory offer is valid till October 19, 2025. Once this deadline has passed, the price of the SUV will be hiked to Rs 41 lakh. The EX30 will be imported to India as a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) unit. It will be assembled at Volvo’s plant in Hosakote, Karnataka.

Volvo EX30: Everything you need to know

Volvo has implemented the design language of the EX90 SUV on the EX30. Up front, the all-electric SUV gets the automaker’s signature Thor’s Hammer LED headlamps. These headlamps are equipped with active high beam assist. The closed-off grille has the Volvo badging in the middle. The SUV rests on 19-inch, 5-spoke, aero wheels. There are 5 exterior paint shades on offer.

The EX30 is available in a single variant in India. Its international version comes in two battery pack options. The India-spec model is available with the larger 69kWh Li-ion battery pack only. This battery pack offers a driving range of 480km (WLTP) on a full charge. The 11kW home charger that comes with the SUV can fully charge it in 7 hours.

The all-electric SUV is powered by a single electric motor mounted on the rear axle. This electric motor generates a maximum power output of 272hp and 343Nm of torque. It can go from 0-100km/h in 5.3 seconds. Its top speed is capped at 180km/h.

The EX30 has a boot space capacity of 318 litres. The rear seating row has a 50:40 split layout that expands the boot space. On top of that, frunk has a 7-litre storage capacity. The EX30 has a similar interior layout to the Volvo EX40. It flaunts a 12.3-inch vertical touchscreen infotainment system with Google support. The 3-spoke steering wheel has mounted controls. The seats are draped in Nordico upholstery. Other features include a 9-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system with a 1,040W audio output, 8-way powered front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a dual-zone climate control system, a powered tailgate, and wireless charging.

On the safety front, the EX30 gets features like 7 airbags, a 360-degree camera, a blind spot monitor, and more. There’s a Level 2 ADAS package on board, consisting of feature like Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Keep Assist, and more.

Final Thoughts

Volvo is currently accepting bookings for the EX30. Its delivery rollout will commence in the first week of November. The automaker is offering a 3-year warranty on the SUV along with 3 years of roadside assistance, a 3-year Volvo Service Package, and a 5-year ‘Connect Plus’ subscription. The EX30 rivals the BMW iX1, Hyundai Ioniq 5, BYD Sealion 7, and Mercedes EQA in India.
