The Leader Edition flaunts a sportier look than the standard model. The lattice design of the grille has been tweaked, and the chrome trim around it now rocks a black finish. The ‘FORTUNER’ lettering is present just above the grille, spanning the width of the SUV. The spoilers are sportier, and the hood gets a signature emblem. The design of the front and rear bumpers has been tweaked as well. The SUV rests on 18-inch black alloy wheels. Its profile remains unchanged. There are 4 colour options on offer: Attitude Black, Super White, Pearl White, and Silver Metallic. These paint shades are paired with a black roof.
Inside, the dashboard and cabin layout of the SUV remain unchanged, but it gets a new dual-tone, black and maroon colour pattern for the seating. The new feature additions include auto-folding outside rear view mirrors (OVRMs), a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and illuminated scuff plates. The standard model is packed with features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a TFT Multi-Information Display (MID), ventilated front seats, cruise control, an 11-speaker JBL sound system, wireless charging, and more.
On the safety front, the Toyota Fortuner packs 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with Brake Assist (BA), Hill Assist Control (HAC), Traction Control System (TRS), seat belt reminders for all passengers, ISOFIX anchorages, and other features.
The Leader Edition retains the 2.8-litre diesel engine powering the standard model of the Fortuner. It is strictly available in a 4×2 configuration. The diesel engine generates a maximum power output of 204hp and 500Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual or torque converter gearbox. The SUV can go from 0-100km/h in under 10 seconds.
Mr Varinder Wadhwa, Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “At Toyota, our customers’ evolving lifestyle preferences inspire us to continually refresh and enhance our offerings.
