Tata Sierra colour options revealed ahead of launch

Tata Sierra made its grand debut in India last week. The iconic ‘Sierra’ nameplate has been revived for the modern market while keeping the ’90s DNA intact. The SUV is set to go on sale on November 25. Ahead of the launch, Tata has revealed some of the exterior paint shades for the SUV. It may add more colour options down the line.

Tata Sierra: Bringing muscle and elegance together

Tata Sierra’s silhouette draws inspiration from its 1991 predecessor. It rocks the iconic three-quarter glasshouse look and modernises it with a panoramic sunroof, flush-sitting door handles, and a black roof finish. The 19-inch alloy wheels, gloss black classing, and clamshell tailgate give it a unique presence on the road. Up front, the SUV features full-width LED DRLs that form a single, seamless curve along the front fascia. Tata calls it the ‘Light Saber’.

Tata has revealed 6 colour options for the Sierra – Andaman Adventure, Bengal Rouge, Coorg Clouds, Mintal Grey, Munnar Mist, and Pristine White. Black is the most prominent paint shade missing from this list, but Tata might be saving it for the launch event. More colour options are expected to be added to this list down the line.

The interior of the Tata Sierra embodies the ‘living room’ philosophy with comfortable seating and lots of cabin space. The dashboard features the ‘TheatrePro’ multi-screen setup with a Horizon View layout. It comprises three 12.3-inch displays. Audio duties are handled by a 12-speaker JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos support. The full list of features has not been revealed yet, but we expected ambient lighting, ventilated seating, and wireless charging to make the cut. There will be a Level 2 ADAS package on board as well.

Tata’s new 1.5-litre direct injection turbo-petrol engine will make its debut on the Sierra. Its output numbers will be revealed at the launch event. The entry-level variants of the SUV are expected to be powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. Tata could also offer the 1.5-litre ‘Kryojet’ diesel engine from the Curvv crossover on the Sierra. This engine produces a maximum power output of 118hp on the Curvv. The all-electric version of the SUV could also be launched alongside the ICE model on November 25.

Final Thoughts

The booking window for the Sierra will open in the coming days. The SUV will position itself between the Curvv and Harrier in Tata’s portfolio. We expect it to fetch more than Rs 10 lakh. Upon launch, it will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Grand VitaraHyundai CretaToyota Urban Cruiser HyRyderKia SeltosSkoda KushaqMG Hector, and more.
