One of the key factors behind the Sierra’s success in the Indian market is the range of engine options on offer. It is one of the few midsize SUVs to come with a diesel engine option. The 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, ‘Kryojet’ diesel engine generates a maximum power output of 116hp. With a 6-speed manual transmission, it produces 260Nm torque. The output increases to 280Nm when the engine is linked to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. This engine is available across all 7 trim levels of the SUV.
Tata’s new 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, TGDI ‘Hyperion’ petrol makes its debut on the Sierra. It produces a maximum power output of 158hp and 255Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. This engine is available on the top three trims only.
The 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated ‘Revotron’ petrol engine is available on all trims except the top-spec Accomplished+. It produces a maximum power output of 105hp and 145Nm of torque. The engine can be mated to a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
Tata Sierra is decked with premium features. Its dashboard rocks a splendid triple-screen comprising a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver, a 12.3-inch central touchscreen infotainment system, and another 12.3-inch display for the passenger. There’s support for wireless headphones, wireless Android Auto, and wireless Apple CarPlay. Audio duties are handled by a 12-speaker JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos support. Other notable features include dual-zone air conditioning, ventilated front seats, a 6-way powered driver’s seat, ambient lighting, a head-up display, an air purifier, and an illuminated cooled glovebox.
Mr Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, said, “We sincerely thank our customers for this overwhelming response which reaffirms the legendary status of the Tata Sierra. True to its legacy of redefining norms, the Sierra has pioneered a new category: the Premium Mid-SUV. Harnessing a deep understanding of evolving consumer aspirations, it reimagines what a mid-size SUV can be. By enriching every dimension—space, comfort, luxury, safety, and everyday usability, the Sierra elevates the segment to an entirely new benchmark. The Sierra is more than a vehicle—it stands as a symbol of progress, individuality, and aspiration.”
