Tata Punch EV facelift launched at Rs 9.69 lakh

Tata Motors has refreshed the Punch EV with a facelift model. Prices for the Tata Punch EV facelift start at Rs 9.69 lakh and go up to Rs 12.59 lakh. The new entry-level model undercuts its previous counterpart by Rs 30,000. Meanwhile, the top-spec model is more affordable by Rs 1.85 lakh. The facelift gets new battery pack options, faster charging, and a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model option. Tata has started accepting bookings for the electric SUV.

Here is the price list for the new Tata Punch EV facelift.

Prices for the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model start at Rs 6.49 lakh with a subscription cost of Rs 2.60/km.

The Punch EV facelift gets some cosmetic tweaks over the outgoing model. Its front bumper has been reworked, and the grille has been closed off. The black trim connecting the two LED DRLs has been ditched on the new model. As a result, its front fascia looks much cleaner. The design of the LED headlamps and DRLs remains unchanged.

Along the sides, the compact electric SUV rests on 16-inch aero-optimised alloy wheels. Other than that, it has the same profile as its previous version. At the back, the LED tail lamps have been bridged by a light bar, like the new ICE facelift. Tata has added 3 new exterior paint schemes for the electric SUV. Buyers can opt for a contrasting black roof as well.

Inside, the Tata Punch EV facelift flaunts a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. Other features include ventilated front seats, auto-dimming IVRM, voice-assisted electric sunroof, cooled glove box, rear seat armrest, wireless charging, ambient lighting, an air purifier, and more.

On the safety front, the electric SUV packs 6 airbags, Hill Ascent and Descent Control, Hill Hold Control, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ISOFIX Child Seat Anchors, SOS Calling Function, iTPMS, and more features.

Tata has increased the battery pack sizes on offer with the Punch EV. There are 2 battery options on offer. Both variants are powered by a front-mounted single electric motor. Here are the range and output specs.

Final Thoughts

Tata is offering a lifetime HV battery warranty on the Punch EV facelift. The automaker’s current charging network covers 2.3 lakh charging points across 1,500 cities. The electric SUV continues to rival the  Citroen eC3MG Comet EVMahindra XUV400 EV, and Tata Tiago EV in India.
