Tata Nexon now available with a panoramic sunroof, prices start at Rs 13.60 lakh

Tata Motors has added a panoramic sunroof to the top-spec trim of the Nexon SUV. Prices for the Tata Nexon Fearless + PS trim start at Rs 13.60 lakh and go up to Rs 15.60 lakh. This trim is available in diesel and petrol powertrains. The CNG version of Nexon, which was launched in September, gets the panoramic sunroof on its Creative + PS trim. Upon launch, it was available with the Fearless trim only.

Other features of the Tata Nexon SUV include a new 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, connected car tech, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, touch controls for the HVAC, and more.

Under the hood, the Tata Nexon SUV is offered with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The former puts out 120hp and 170Nm while the latter produces 115hp and 260Nm. Both engines can be mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT gearbox. The petrol engine also gets 7-speed DCT and 5-speed manual transmission options.

The 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine on the Tata Nexon CNG generates a maximum power output of 100hp and 170Nm of torque. The CNG engine can only be mated with a manual transmission. However, Tata may add an iMT gearbox down the line, as it did with the Tiago and Tigor CNGs. The Nexon CNG offers a mileage of 24 km/kg. Its fuel tank has a capacity of 60 litres. The boot space capacity is 321 litres.

Conclusion

Prices for the Tata Nexon lineup start at Rs 9.29 lakh and go up to Rs 18 lakh. Meanwhile, the CNG lineup of the SUV is priced between Rs 8.99 lakh – Rs 14.59 lakh. In India, the Nexon rivals Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Mahindra XUV300, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
