Tata Nexon EV to get a new top-spec variant with ADAS

Tata Nexon EV is one of the most popular in India. Its relatively affordable price is one of the major reasons behind its success in the Indian market. Tata Motors is able to achieve this affordability by holding back some premium features. However, this is about to change as the automaker has decided to equip the compact electric SUV with a Level 2 ADAS package. It will be exclusively available on a new top-spec variant that is expected to launch this festive season.

Tata Nexon EV: Which ADAS features to expect?

Tata Nexon EV will become the first compact electric SUV (sub-4m) in India to feature an ADAS package. This package will be available exclusively on the soon-to-be-launched top-spec Empowered+ A variant. This variant will get the larger 45kWh battery pack.

Tata Nexon EV’s ADAS package will be similar to the one on the Tata Curvv EV. The electric crossover’s Level 2 ADAS suite comprises features like Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go (ACC), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Lane Change Alert (LCA), Adaptive Steering Assist (ASA), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Rear Collision Warning (RCW), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), and more.

In terms of creature comforts, the Tata Nexon EV packs a 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, connected car tech, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, voice-assisted sunroof, touch controls for the HVAC, and more. It is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Tata Nexon EV comes in 2 battery pack options – 30kWh and 45kWh. The 40.5kWh battery pack was discontinued earlier this year. The two remaining battery packs offer a driving range of 375km and 489km, respectively. The 30kWh ‘MR’ variants generate a maximum power output of 129hp and 215Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 45kWh ‘LR’ variants put out 145hp and 215Nm.
