Skoda Superb: Massive discounts on the MY2023 model

The international model of the Skoda Superb is currently in its 4th generation. The 2nd-gen version currently being retailed in India was manufactured in 2023. Skoda imported 100 units of the sedan back in April 2024 and it is estimated that 20-25 units still remain unsold. As a result, Skoda dealerships across India with unsold stock of the Superb are offering discounts in the range of Rs 15-18 lakh.

The MY2023 Skoda Superb is available in an L&K variant only. Since this is a top-spec variant it packs a lot of premium features. The sedan flaunts a 9-inch Columbus infotainment system with support for wireless charging and wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Also on offer are 12-way adjustable front-row electric seats. The driver’s seat has a massage and memory function as well. Other features include dynamic chassis control tech, 9 airbags, and TPMS.

Powering the 2nd-gen Skoda Superb is the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 190hp and 320Nm of torque. It is mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. The sedan can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 7.8 seconds.

Meanwhile, the 4th-gen Skoda Superb which was unveiled globally last year is available in 5 powertrain options. This includes 2 petrol engines, 2 diesel engines, and a plug-in hybrid. The 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine can put out 150hp by itself and is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It also receives mild-hybrid tech. The 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine can put out 204hp and 265hp, depending on the tuning. It is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and gets an AWD configuration.

The plug-in hybrid variant (PHEV) of the Superb comprises the 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine combined with a 25.7 kWh battery. Combined, this configuration puts out 204hp of power. The two diesel engines put out 150hp and 193hp.
