Skoda dealerships across India are offering discounts worth up to Rs 18 lakh on the Superb sedan. The 2nd-gen Skoda Superb was re-introduced in India in April 2024 after being discontinued in 2023 due to its failure to comply with BS6 Phase II norms. The sedan is a CBU import and costs Rs 54 lakh. Skoda imported just 100 units of the Superb to India in 2024. Some of these units still remain unsold.

The international model of the Skoda Superb is currently in its 4th generation. The 2nd-gen version currently being retailed in India was manufactured in 2023. Skoda imported 100 units of the sedan back in April 2024 and it is estimated that 20-25 units still remain unsold. As a result, Skoda dealerships across India with unsold stock of the Superb are offering discounts in the range of Rs 15-18 lakh.
The MY2023 Skoda Superb is available in an L&K variant only. Since this is a top-spec variant it packs a lot of premium features. The sedan flaunts a 9-inch Columbus infotainment system with support for wireless charging and wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Also on offer are 12-way adjustable front-row electric seats. The driver’s seat has a massage and memory function as well. Other features include dynamic chassis control tech, 9 airbags, and TPMS.
Powering the 2nd-gen Skoda Superb is the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 190hp and 320Nm of torque. It is mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. The sedan can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 7.8 seconds.
Meanwhile, the 4th-gen Skoda Superb which was unveiled globally last year is available in 5 powertrain options. This includes 2 petrol engines, 2 diesel engines, and a plug-in hybrid. The 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine can put out 150hp by itself and is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It also receives mild-hybrid tech. The 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine can put out 204hp and 265hp, depending on the tuning. It is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and gets an AWD configuration.
The plug-in hybrid variant (PHEV) of the Superb comprises the 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine combined with a 25.7 kWh battery. Combined, this configuration puts out 204hp of power. The two diesel engines put out 150hp and 193hp.

The 2nd-gen Skoda Superb is available in three colour options – Rosso Brunello, Water World Green, and Magic Black. It rivals the Toyota Camry in India. It remains to be seen whether Skoda will introduce the 4th-gen model of the sedan in India next year.
