Skoda Octavia to launch in India in November 2025

Skoda Auto has confirmed that it will bring its premium sedan, Octavia, to India in November 2025. The facelifted version of the Skoda Octavia broke cover last year. It will be launched in a single ‘RS’ variant in India. The sedan will likely be a Completely Built-up Unit (CBU) import. Its pre-facelift model was discontinued in India back in 2023 due to the application of new RDE norms. At the time, it was one of the bestselling premium sedans in the country.

Skoda Octavia facelift: What to expect?

The front fascia of the Octavia facelift features new aprons and a redesigned grille. Flanking the grille on either side are 2nd-gen LED Matrix beam headlamps. The angular design, Crystallinium elements, and 36 individual matrix segments work together to provide better illumination. The RS variant comes in an exclusive Mamba Green paint shade.

Inside, the Octavia facelift flaunts a free-standing 10-inch touchscreen infotainment display and a 10-inch digital instrument cluster. Higher variants get the option of a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The sedan also features Skoda’s in-house digital assistant, ‘Laura’. This assistant is integrated with ChatGPT. The cabin has a special ‘Phone box’ section that keeps the devices cool and offers 15W wireless and 45W wired charging.

The Octavia facelift is available in four petrol and two diesel powertrains. The 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 114hp. This engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. This engine is also available in a 147hp version. The 2.0-litre TSI engine produces a maximum power output of 201hp. On the RS variants, this engine produces 261hp. The 2.0-litre diesel engine produces 113hp, but it can also be had in a 147hp version with a DSG automatic gearbox.

Final Thoughts

The Octavia RS will be imported to India in limited numbers. Almost 200 units of the sedan are expected to be shipped into the country. Its prices will likely start around the Rs 50 lakh mark. Upon launch, it will rival the Audi A4, Toyota Camry, BMW 2 Series, and other premium sedans.
