Skoda Kylaq crosses the 50,000 production landmark

Skoda India rolled out the 50,000th unit of the Kylaq SUV from its Chakan plant earlier this week. Skoda Kylaq went into production on December 13, 2024. It took the automaker 13 months to breeze past the 50,000 production milestone. The compact SUV was launched in December 2024. Since then, it has sold 46,872 units, averaging 3,906 sales per month.

Skoda Kylaq: A bright spark in the compact SUV segment

Skoda Kylaq was unveiled in India back in November 2024. The automaker opened the booking window the following month. The compact SUV garnered 10,000 bookings in just 10 days, selling out the base variant. Skoda re-opened the bookings in January 2025. Earlier this month, the SUV was updated with 2 new variants – Classic+ and Prestige+.

The Skoda Kylaq is decked with features like a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, six-way electric seats with ventilation, cruise control, steering-mounted paddle shifters, an electric sunroof, and more. The interior is available in single-tone and dual-tone colour themes.

Powering the Kylaq is a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine. This engine generates a maximum power output of 115hp and 178Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. The SUV can go from 0 to 100 kph in just 10.5 seconds. Its top speed is capped at 188kmph.

Final Thoughts

Prices for the Skoda Kylaq start at Rs 7.59 lakh and go up to Rs 13.65 lakh. The compact SUV rivals the Hyundai VenueMahindra XUV 3XOMaruti Suzuki BrezzaTata Nexon, and Kia Sonet in India.
