Prices for Skoda Slavia, Kushaq, and Kodiaq to go up next year

Skoda Auto India has announced fresh price hikes for 3 of its offerings in India. The price hike will come into effect in January 2025 for Skoda Slavia, Kushaq, and Kodiaq. The newly-launched Skoda Kylaq will not be affected by the price hikes until it has sold out 33,333 units. The automaker has cited ‘rising input and operational costs’ as the reason behind the price hike.

Skoda Slavia, Kushaq, and Kodiaq: Price hikes explained

While the price of every variant will be affected differently, the general rise in costs will be around 3%. The Skoda Slavia range, which currently starts at Rs 10.49 lakh, will fetch Rs 10.80 lakh in January. Prices for the Kushaq will start at Rs 11.12 lakh. The midsize SUV is currently priced at Rs 10.89 lakh. Lastly, prices for Skoda’s flagship offering in India, Kodiaq, will go up from Rs 39.99 lakh to Rs 41.20 lakh.

The Skoda Slavia and Kushaq share the same powertrain. The 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power of 115hp and 175Nm peak torque. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 150hp and 250Nm peak torque. Transmission options include a six-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.

Meanwhile, the Kodiaq SUV is powered by the 2.0-litre TSI EVO turbo-petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 187hp and 320Nm of torque. The SUV gets an ‘All Wheel Drive’ and can reach 0-100kmph in just 7.8 seconds. Skoda claims that the updated engine is 4.2% more fuel efficient. The SUV offers six drive modes – Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Individual, and Snow.

Skoda is currently gearing up to launch the next-gen model of the Kodiaq in India. The next-gen Kodiaq will retain the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine from the current-gen model. Inside, it will get a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a 10-inch digital instrument cluster. Other features like a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, seat ventilation, and wireless charging are also expected in the SUV.

Conclusion

Skoda is not the only automaker that has announced price hikes across its portfolio. Earlier this month, Toyota hiked the price of its Innova HyCross MPV. In other news, Skoda has garnered over 10,000 bookings for the Kylaq SUV within the first few days of its launch. The entry-level Classic variant of the compact SUV has completely sold out and won’t be reponed for bookings until May 2025. Skoda has also increased the production capacity of its Pune plant by 30% and aims to roll out 2,55,000 units out of the facility annually.
