Next-gen Honda Amaze to launch tomorrow, here’s what you can expect

Honda Car India is set to launch the next-gen Amaze tomorrow. Honda Amaze is one of the most popular compact sedans in India and its next-gen model will reinvigorate its rivalry with the likes of Tata Tigor and Maruti Dzire. Leading up to the launch, the automaker has been dropping teaser images for the sedan across their social media channels. The next-gen Amaze will feature a refreshed design and instrumentation upgrades but will remain the same under the hood.

3rd-gen Honda Amaze: Design, Instrumentation, and more

The new Amaze will seek design inspiration from the Honda Elevate SUV. The front facia of the sedan will flaunt a hexagonal grille, similar to the SUV. However, this grille will have a smaller size on the sedan. Flanking the grille are split LED headlamps integrated with LED DRLs. The design of the fog lamp housings is inspired by the City sedan.

Along the sides, the Honda Amaze has stark character lines. The silhouette of the sedan remains largely unchanged. The alloy wheels rock a new design. At the back, the layout of the tail lamps is similar to the ones on the City sedan. The rear bumper houses the two reflectors in its corners.

Talking about the instrumentation, the next-gen Honda Amaze will feature an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system from the V and VX variants of the Elevate SUV. This infotainment system will support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Also onboard will be a semi-digital instrument cluster, a multi-functional steering wheel, and physical HVAC controls. Other features will include rear AC vents, wireless charging, and an ADAS package. However, the sedan will miss out on a 360-degree camera and electric sunroof.

Things will remain the same under the hood for the 3rd-gen Honda Amaze. The sedan will be powered by the 1.2-litre iVTEC naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 89hp and 110Nm peak torque. Transmission options include a five-speed manual and a CVT gearbox. Honda discontinued the 1.5-litre iDTEC diesel engine from the Amaze lineup back in 2022. This engine was capable of producing a peak power output of 100hp and 200Nm peak torque.

Conclusion

Prices for the current gen Honda Amaze start at Rs 7.20 lakh and go up to Rs 9.96 lakh. The next-gen model of the sedan will demand a premium of up to Rs 1 lakh. Honda will begin the delivery rollout for the sedan in January 2025. Upon launch, the Amaze will rival the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Tata Tigor, and Hyundai Aura.
