MY2026 Kia EV9 gets a range boost, new Nightfall Edition

Kia has launched the new MY2026 EV9 for the US market. The new Kia EV9 offers an improved range on selected variants. On top of that, the electric SUV gets equipment and cosmetic upgrades, including a new Nightfall Edition. The special edition model is based on the Land trim of the SUV. In India, the electric SUV is only available in the top-spec GT-Line trim.

MY2026 Kia EV9: New range details

In the US, Kia EV9 is available in 5 variants: Light SR, Light LR, Wind, Land, and GT-Line. The top-spec GT-Line variant has received a range bump of 16.1km in the latest MY2026 model. It now offers a driving range of 451km on a full charge. The Land and Wind variants can now go up to 455km on a full battery pack, an improvement of 4.82km. Meanwhile, the Light LR variant gets a boost of 1.6km, and its range now sits at 491km.

These numbers are brand estimations. The US EPA test cycle numbers will be revealed later. The electric SUV is available in 2 battery sizes in the USA: 76.1kWh and 99kWh. The Light SR variant uses the smaller 76.1kWh battery pack while other variants use the 99kWh unit. The India-spec GT-Line variant of the Kia EV9 offers a driving range of 561km. This figure is produced by the ARAI test cycle, which is the standard used in India.

The new Nightfall Edition of the Kia EV9 gets blacked-out wheels and badges. The special edition SUV also gets an exclusive ‘Roadrider Brown’ paint shade. Inside, the dashboard gets a dark theme. There’s an exclusive stitching pattern for the seats along with novel design elements. The Nightfall Edition is based on the Land trim of the SUV. In terms of mechanical upgrades, the special edition model boosts the SUV’s torque by 100Nm, matching it with the output produced by the top-spec GT-Line trim.

Final Thoughts

Kia has added 2 new dual-tone colour themes for the GT-Line variant: Glacial White Pearl with Ebony Black roof and Wolf Gray with Ebony Black roof. Prices for the MY2026 Kia EV9 in the US start at $54,900 (~Rs 46.97 lakh) for the Light SR variant and go up to $71,900 (~Rs 61.51 lakh) for the GT-Line variant. The top-spec GT-Line variant of the EV9 is imported via the CBU route to India. As a result, it fetches Rs 1.30 crore.
