MY2025 BYD Seal launched in India at Rs 41 lakh

BYD India has announced the prices for the 2025 Model Year BYD Seal EV. Prices for the EV start at Rs 41 lakh and go up to Rs 53.15 lakh. While the price of the entry-level variant remains the same, the mid-spec and top-spec variants are now dearer by Rs 15,000. Last month, the sedan was updated with a new suspension and comfort features.

The BYD Seal EV is available in 3 variants. Here is the price list for the EV.

Performance (AWD) 82.56kWh Rs 53.15 lakh

The mid-spec Premium variant of the BYD Seal has been updated with Frequency Selective Dampers (FSD) for a more refined drive. Previously, this feature was exclusive to the top-spec Performance variant. The Performance variant has been updated with a DiSus-C suspension system.

In terms of comfort features, all variants of the BYD Seal now offer a power sunshade as a standard feature. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are now available on all variants, too. A silver-plated dimming canopy has been added to elevate the ambience. The air conditioning system has been upgraded with a larger compressor capacity and an all-new module for air purification.

No mechanical changes have been made to the EV. However, it now features a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Low Voltage Battery (LVB), which is six times lighter than conventional low-voltage batteries, five times better at self-discharge consumption, and has an impressive 15-year lifespan.

Mr Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles (EPV) Business at BYD India, said, “The BYD SEAL has struck a meaningful chord with Indian customers. With the MY 2025 edition, we’ve focused on refining key aspects that matter most — ride comfort, cabin experience, and smart convenience. These enhancements reflect our ongoing effort to evolve the product thoughtfully, based on real-world feedback and our commitment to delivering a more rewarding EV ownership experience.”

Final Thoughts

The MY2025 BYD Atto 3 SUV has been updated with an all-black interior and LFP battery. Its prices start at Rs 24.99 lakh and go up to Rs 33.99 lakh. The Seal EV rivals the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Volvo XC40 Recharge, and Kia EV6.
