MG Windsor EV Pro: What’s new?

The MG Windsor EV Pro packs a bigger 52.9kWh battery pack. In comparison, the regular model of the EV has a 38kWh battery unit. The Pro model has a 449km driving range. Meanwhile, the regular Windsor EV can go up to 331km on a full charge. The 7.4kW home charger takes up to 9.5 hours to fully charge the 52.9kWh battery pack. Meanwhile, a 60kW DC fast charger can take the battery from 20 to 80% in 50 minutes.

The mechanical output of the MG Windsor EV Pro is identical to the standard model. The front-mounted electric motor produces a maximum power output of 136hp and 200Nm of torque.

Other than a new design for the 18-inch alloy wheels, there are no cosmetic changes on the MG Windsor EV Pro. The new alloys resemble the ones on the MG Hector SUV. The Windsor Pro retains key design elements like compact LED headlamps, sleek LED DRLs, and the LED light bars at the front and back. MG Motor has introduced 3 new paint schemes for Windsor’s Pro model – Celadon Blue, Glaze Red, and Aurora Silver.

The MG Windsor EV Pro gets significant changes to its interior. The EV gets a dual-tone ivory theme for the interior, with beige upholstery on the seats, front armrest, and roof and column liners. Feature upgrades include Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle to Load (V2L) functionality. These functions allow the EV to charge other electric cars and electronic devices. The Windsor Pro also rocks a Level 2 ADAS package and a powered tailgate. However, the boot space has shrunk from 604 litres to 579 litres due to the larger battery pack.

Other features like the 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, aero lounge seats, front seat ventilation, rear AC vents, powered driver’s seat, wireless charging, ambient lighting, 9-speaker audio system, and panoramic sunroof have been retained from the regular model.
