Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe launched in India at Rs 1.35 crore

Mercedes has made another addition to its luxury portfolio in India. The Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe has been launched in the country at a starting price of Rs 1.35 crore. It sits above the CLE 300 Cabriolet in Mercedes’ coupe lineup. The CLE 53 combines the agility and sportiness of the C-Class with the space and status of the E-Class.

Powering the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe is an upgraded version of the 3.0-litre M 256M inline six-cylinder turbo engine. This engine is paired with a 48V mild hybrid system. It produces a maximum power output of 449hp and 560Nm of torque. In Overboost mode, the torque rises to 600Nm for up to 12 seconds. This engine system is mated to a 9-speed torque converter gearbox. The Mercedes 4Matic+ system relays the power to all four wheels. The coupe can go from 0-100km/h in 4.2 seconds. Its top speed is capped at 250km/h. With the AMG Performance Package, the top speed rises to 270km/h.

The Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe is decked with premium and luxury features. The dashboard flaunts an 11.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system aligned in a portrait orientation and a 12.3-inch free-standing digital driver’s display. There are 3 central AC vents right above the infotainment system. This infotainment system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There’s dynamic ambient lighting onboard with 64 colours. The 3-spoke, flat-bottomed steering wheel is wrapped in Alcantara leather with red stitching. The seats are available in Artico man-made leather and Microcut black microfibre.

Final Thoughts

The Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe is now open for bookings. The automaker will begin the delivery rollout for the coupe right away. The luxury coupe rivals Audi RS5, BMW M2, Alpine A110, and Porsche 718 Cayman in India.
