In 2025, Maruti exported 18 models from India to over 100 countries.

2022 2.63 lakh
2023 2.69 lakh
2024 3.26 lakh
2025 3.95 lakh

Maruti Suzuki scaled up its foreign shipments in 2021. Since then, the automaker has been India’s biggest car exporter. In 2025, it began the production of its first all-electric offering, e Vitara. So far, 13,000 units of the electric SUV have been exported to 29 countries. In July 2025, Maruti Suzuki Fronx became the fastest SUV to clock 1 lakh exports. The Jimny 5-door crossed the 1 lakh export mark in October 2025, 2 years after it began shipping from Indian shores.

Speaking on the milestone, Mr Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “This is a proud moment for the company as we record our highest-ever calendar year exports of 3.95 lakh units. It reflects India’s manufacturing strength and trust of customers worldwide. At a time when global trade is passing through a turbulent phase, we regard this 21% growth as a responsible contribution in supporting the nation’s export momentum.”

Apart from exports, Maruti Suzuki set an internal production record in 2025. The automaker produced over 22.55 lakh units in CY2025. This is the second year in a row that it has crossed the 20 lakh landmark. In CY2024, it had rolled out 20.63 lakh units from its manufacturing plants. The internal production figure includes domestic sales, exports and OEM supplies. The Fronx, Baleno, Swift, Dzire and Ertiga were the top 5 models produced by the automaker.

Final Thoughts

Maruti’s export numbers will be bolstered in 2026 as it will ramp up the production of the e Vitara. It is also rumoured that the automaker will introduce an all-electric version of the Fronx this year. If the compact electric SUV sees the light of day, it will be shipped to Europe and Japan, among other markets.
