Maruti Suzuki e Vitara features and colour options revealed

Maruti Suzuki has revealed the features and colour options for its debut EV, e Vitara, ahead of its launch. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is set to go on sale in March. It was publicly showcased in India for the first time at the Bharat Global Mobility Expo earlier this month after making its global debut in Milan last year. Maruti’s electric SUV has also spawned a Toyota counterpart in Urban Cruiser EV which is set to go on sale later this year.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Here’s the tech inside the SUV

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will be available in 6 monotone and 4 dual-tone colour schemes. The solid colour options include Nexa Blue, Splendid Silver, Bluish Black, Arctic White, Grandeur Grey, and Opulent Red. The roof along with the A and B pillars will be blacked out in dual-tone variants. These variants will be available in Splendid Silver, Arctic White, Opulent Red, and Land Breeze Green colour options.

Inside, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will feature a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The touchscreen infotainment system will support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, an Infinity audio system by Harmon, automatic climate control, a 10-way adjustable driver seat, ventilated front seating, ambient lighting with multiple colour zones, wireless charging, and an air purifier. There will be 4 drive modes on offer – Eco, Normal, Sport, and Snow.

On the safety front, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will rock 7 airbags, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), a blind spot monitor, front and rear parking sensors, an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with auto-hold, a 360-degree camera, and an Acoustic Vehicle Alarm System (AVAS). There will also be a Level 2 ADAS package on board.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will be available in 2 battery sizes – 49kWh and 61kWh. These battery packs can operate within the -30°C – 60°C temperature range. The front-mounted electric motor produces a maximum power output of 143hp on the 49kWh variants and 173hp on the larger battery variants. The 61kWh battery pack has a 500km range. More powertrain-related details will be revealed closer to the launch.

Conclusion

As mentioned earlier, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will go on sale in March. We expect its prices to start at Rs 19 lakh. The electric SUV will be exported out of India. It will launch in global markets in May. Upon launch, the e Vitara will rival Hyundai Creta Electric, Toyota Urban Cruiser EV, Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV, Tata Nexon EV, and MG Windsor EV in India.
