The Mahindra XUV700 is set to get a facelift model next month. Ahead of the launch, Mahindra has announced that the SUV will be rebranded to XUV 7XO. Last year, the automaker renamed the XUV300 to XUV3XO when its facelift was launched. The Mahindra XUV7XO will make its debut on January 5. It will go on sale in the weeks following the grand reveal.

Alongside the name announcement, Mahindra has dropped the first teaser for the XUV 7XO. The video gives a glimpse of the LED DRLs, headlamps, and tail lamps. The SUV draws inspiration from the LED DRL design of the newly-launched XEV 9S. The Y-shaped DRLs border the angular headlamps. The LED tail lamps also have a segmented appearance. The grille of the SUV has vertical slats. The profile remains unchanged from the current model. Mahindra could make the front and rear bumpers sportier by giving them a sculpted look.
Mahindra has not released any teaser images or videos for the interior of the XUV 7XO. However, spy shots reveal a triple-screen setup on the dashboard, similar to the XEV 9e and XEV 9S. This setup will likely comprise three 12.3-inch displays. They will cater to the touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, and the front passenger’s entertainment unit. There will be support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The rear seats could get Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) support. Features like auto-dimming IVRMs, automatic climate control, wireless charging, connected car tech, and a Level 2 ADAS package are expected to make the cut. There will be 6 and 7-seat layouts on offer.
No changes will be made under the hood of the XUV 7XO. It will retain the 2 engine options that are currently on offer with the XUV700 SUV. The 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 200hp and 380Nm of torque. The 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine is available in two tune levels. The entry-level variants put out 155hp and 360Nm of torque, while the top-spec variants generate 185hp and 420Nm. The torque output jumps to 450Nm on the automatic variants. Both engines can be paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.
