The new Mahindra Thar Roxx gets some cosmetic tweaks and design changes over its 3-door counterpart. The new six-slot grille on the 5-door Thar looks inspired by Jeep SUVs. The lifestyle SUV also gets new projector LED headlamps and C-shaped DRLs. The bumper design is unchanged but it is not finished in black like the current-gen Thar. The profile of the new Thar has not been fully revealed yet but it is expected to get new diamond-cut alloy wheels. At the back, the taillamps will also undergo a design change.
Inside, the Mahindra Thar Roxx will sport premium features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, push start/stop button, rear AC vents, centre and front seat armrests, sunroof, and more. On the safety front, the Thar Roxx will get six airbags, rear disc brakes, and a Level 2 ADAS package. There will be two seating rows on the SUV with a seating capacity of 5 people.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx will retain the 2 engine options from its 3-door counterpart – a 2.2-litre diesel and a 2.0-litre petrol engine. It will also come in a 2WD configuration like its 3-door counterpart. However, it won’t get the 1.5-litre diesel engine found in the entry-level variants of the 3-door Thar. The option of an automatic transmission will be reserved solely for 4×4 variants.
