Kia Syros: What’s on offer?

Kia Syros follows the design language established by the automaker’s flagship electric SUV – EV9. The Syros is a sub-4m SUV designed specially for the Indian market. It stands at dimensions of 3,995mm x 1,800mm x 1,665mm and has a 2,550mm wheelbase. Up front, the compact SUV flaunts an upright nose, vertically stacked LED headlamps and DRLs, and a closed-off grille. The air vents are placed on the bumper. Along the sides, the SUV gets extra plastic cladding on wheel arches and flush door handles. The alloy wheels have a 3-petal design. The LED tail lamps at the back are vertically stacked on either side of the windscreen.

Inside, the Kia Syros gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, another 12.3-inch display for the digital instrument cluster, and a 5-inch display for the climate control system. Kia calls this the Trinity Panoramic Display. Other features include an 8-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, a 4-way powered front seat, seat ventilation, reclining and sliding second-row seats, 64-colour ambient mood lighting, wireless charging, and more.

Safety features of the Kia Syros include  6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, Vehicle Stability Management, Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold, a 360-degree camera, and more. The Level 2 ADAS package offered with the SUV consists of features like Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, 360 Degree Camera with Blind View Monitor and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go.

Buyers get the option of 2 engines on the Syros – a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The turbo petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 120hp and 172Nm of torque. It can be linked to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Meanwhile, the diesel engine produces a maximum power output of 115hp and 250Nm of torque. This engine also gets 2 transmission options – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter gearbox. Interestingly, the Syros does not get the 1.2-litre NA engine that currently powers the Sonet.
