BMW M5: What’s on offer?

The exterior look of the BMW M5 is bolder and more menacing than before. The front fascia of the sedan features a glossy, all-black BMW M kidney grille. A double bar with the M5 logo runs across the grille. Flanking the grille are sharp LED headlamps that add to the bold look of the sedan. The wheel arches are more pronounced and the bumper has sculpted surfaces. The central air intake is surrounded by glossy black trims. At the back, the sedan gets quad exhausts and a 2-section diffuser. The rear bumper has a sculpted look as well.

Inside, the 2024 BMW M5 features a 14.9-inch curved touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system with 18 speakers, M multifunction seats, 4-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, wireless charging and more. The newly-designed leather steering wheel has a 3-spoke design and flat-bottomed rim. The gear selector level has been redesigned as well.

Under the hood, the BMW M5 retains the 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine but it now gets a hybrid configuration. The V8 engine produces a maximum power output of 585hp and 750Nm of torque. The electric motor puts up an additional 197hp and 280Nm. In total, the M5 sedan generates a power output of 727hp and 1,000Nm of torque. This engine is linked to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

The sedan’s top speed is capped at 250kmph. It can be pushed to 305kmph with the M Driver’s package. The M5 can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 3.5 seconds.

Mr Vikram Pawah, President and CEO, BMW Group India said, “The BMW M5 is the original performance sedan. It’s been considered the sportiest and most dynamic sedan in the world ever since it was launched 40 years ago. If you’re looking for compromise, you’ve come to the wrong place. The all-new BMW M5 cuts an athletic figure – one that is more expressive than ever before.  The seventh generation M5 delivers maximum performance and comes equipped with the latest technology and BMW M engineering, making it the benchmark in the high-performance sedan segment.”
